Death of Libertarianism

Those who know me know I define myself as an Anarcho-capitalist more than a Libertarian. I was never much on party politics so when describing myself politically I preferred the term Anarcho-capitalist to Libertarian because I did not associate myself with a voting group. With that said I always supported many Libertarian principles and admired several Libertarian candidates such as Harry Brown and Ron Paul.
Today I have lost what little respect I once had for the Libertarian Party with their nomination of Bob Barr. Libertarians are supposed to be for less government and more freedom. The Libertarian Party nomination of Barr as their candidate should be a slap in the face to any real Libertarian. Barr is not a Libertarian, never has been and he has made it obvious never will be.

Understanding How Screwed We All Are - "The Greatest Depression"

Summary:
Central bankers devised a way of taking physical possession of all of the stocks in every Initial Public Offering (as far as I can tell it seems like _ALL_). This allows for selected entities (broker friends etc.) to use the stocks as “collateral” in such a way that they are counterfeited into many many many many times their value into ‘the market’ (Example, for the scale of this: $75 Trillion in worldwide real estate value, $50 Trillion in worldwide annual Gross Domestic Product - $675 Trillion in estimated “derivative value”)
Sooner or later someone is going to want to see the actual stock that they purchased or whatever is being used as collateral. Well, this has been going on in Europe unknown to the general public in America for many months in an attempt to lessen the damage to Europe’s Economy.

The Specter of Speculators

Chance is a word devoid of sense; nothing can exist without a cause.~ Voltaire
Whenever regulatory schemes of the state go awry, urgent campaigns are undertaken to find scapegoats upon whom to unload explanations for the ensuing failures. We saw this in the so-called "savings and loan scandals," when governmental restrictions on the industry combined with rapidly growing inflation that raised interest rates into double-digit numbers, produced disastrous consequences. Because the state knew that the regulatory system had to be protected at all costs, a number of S & L executives were singled out for the blame. This practice continues today, with managers of hedge funds facing criminal prosecutions for the investment decisions they made during periods of economic tumult. Someone other than government regulators must be held to account for such dislocations, and the prosecution of those who failed to respond adequately to the state-generated confusion will be used to convince Boobus that state regulation does work to instill order and protect his interests!
